Nature seems to come alive in a whole new way at nighttime. The light of the moon illuminates the world and creates shapes and shadows that you'd never imagine in the daylight.
I find this to be especially true for mountains and trees. Maybe it's their great size, or the depth of the distance between those high peaks and tall branches and our eyes... but they glow with new and interesting magic in the moonlight.
Same for the water - the way everything reflects onto that seemingly black surface but with an endless world existing just below.
